Shifts: Monday -Friday 8a-4:30p, weekend and holiday rotations in Acute Care

Position Specific Accountability
* Evaluates and treats occupational therapy patients under physician orders
* Develops treatment plans for all patients assigned to case load
* Maintains appropriate documentation in the patient's medical record
* Ongoing commitment to reducing costs and improving productivity in the occupational therapy department
* Maintains positive relationships with the health care team, patient and family
* Communicates effectively in writing and verbally with all appropriate members of the patient's healthcare team
* Adheres to departmental and hospital policies and procedures

* Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
* Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
* Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state
regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. * Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. * Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Education:
Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience:
Entry level/new graduate acceptable
License(s)/Certification(s):
Occupational Therapy licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure in Iowa Valid Iowa Drivers License Maintains Basic Life Support certification Refer to Stroke Service policy for annual stroke education requirements
